I had the opportunity to head back out to San Francisco for the Code for America summit. The summit was amazing but I’ll save that recap for my other blog. I went with a friend who is originally from CA and after the summit, had the opportunity to stay with her sister in Hollister. From there we took a day trip to Santa Cruz where we did some hiking and to Big Sur which is possibly the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to. I need to get back there and camp sometime very soon.
We went to San Francisco in May for a friends wedding and had the opportunity to hike at Point Reyes national beach. It was amazing. We were lucky enough to have some friends who were local take us there. If it weren’t for them we would have probably ended up at a much more touristy place. The best part of the hike was ending at Bass lake and going for a brisk swim. A couple of us in the group jumped in from the rope swing but I was way to chicken to jump in.
a break from the snow
In February we were able to get a break from this terrible east coast winter to travel down south to Texas. We spent the majority of the trip in San Antonio and then headed to Austin for a few days. This was my first trip to Texas and hopefully not my last. I loved Austin and wish we’d had more time to spend there.
