This weekend we took advantage of the weather being in the high 50s (even though it’s the end of December!) and drove out to Downingtown, PA to check out Marsh Creek State park. We were originally going to go to our go-to spot, Wissahickon park, but decided to go a little further out to Marsh Creek instead. The drive was a little over an hour and wasn’t too bad. We plugged it into Google maps and selected the route without tolls.

This is going to be an image heavy post since the Pinnacle loop is one of my favorite hikes in PA. This trail is out in Hamburg, PA, about an hour and a half outside Philly. The full loop is close to 9 miles with portions on the Appalachian trail. Although there was still snow on the beginning parts of the trail, coming down the other side was much sunnier and starting to get green.

This was actually only the second time I’ve been to French Creek but somewhere I definitely want to return to. There are so many different trails with varying difficulty and length. We still couldn’t completely get away from snow but it was fun to see the park in the winter which was vastly different from the first time I was there which was in the summer. It was nice to walk around with barely anyone else there and enjoy the peacefulness.
