Shades of Death trail

During our trip to Hickory Run State Park, we stayed at one of the campsites that led to the Shades of Death trail. We woke up in the morning, ate breakfast and decided to explore. We saw the name of this trail on a map and knew we had to check it out. When we booked the site, we didn’t realize how easy it was to get to it. Once we did, it was an awesome surprise!

The hike is fairly easy and was really beautiful. My pictures don’t really don’t do it justice, but if you’re in the area of Hickory Run State Park, I would definitely recommend┬áchecking out this short, fun trail. From other reviews I’ve read of this trail, it sounds like it can get a bit crowded. Since we went fairly early, we barely saw anyone else along the trail. As we headed back to camp, we passed a bunch of people just beginning their hike. Hopefully, if you check it out on the earlier side, you’ll be good.
